Payment and Premium

In the Checkout Form you collect the premium: the premium is an item of the payment the buyer makes to you. The buyer pays for the product and the insurance in a single charge.

How the premium is added to the payment

  1. When the buyer selects insurance, your payment does not change. The selection is recorded only on the insurance side; the total in the form is updated to show it to the buyer.
  2. When the buyer submits the payment, the selection is verified again before the payment attempt starts: the validity of the quote, the buyer's consent, the payment's basket and the currency.
  3. If the selection is valid, the premium is added to your payment as a separate basket item and the payment amount increases by the premium.
  4. The payment is processed with this final amount. 3D verification and risk checks during the payment see the amount including the premium.

The premium item’s ID is the insurance order ID (inso_). A payment with insurance is made in a single installment and by card only.

If the selection cannot be verified, the payment attempt does not start and no money moves. What the buyer is shown: Behavior Rules.

You do not send the premium amount and you do not change your payment request. The premium is taken from the offer the buyer selected. If the buyer selects no insurance, your payment is processed with the amount you created it with, as today.

The premium in your payment record

If the buyer pays with insurance, your payment looks like this:

Value
Payment amountThe amount you created + the premium. The amount in the payment webhooks is also the total including the premium.
Premium itemA separate item added to the basket: itemType VIRTUAL, its amount is the premium amount
Premium item IDThe ID of the insurance order (prefixed inso_). IDs: Concepts and Statuses › IDs
Your itemsUnchanged; the premium item is added to the end of the basket.

For example, if the buyer selects insurance with a premium of 19.90 TRY on a payment of 1,000.00 TRY, the payment amount becomes 1,019.90 TRY and the basket contains a premium item of 19.90 TRY. The amounts are examples.

You can link the premium item to the insurance order by the order ID. The premium item carries no insurance fields.

Single charge

  • A payment with insurance is made in a single installment. If the buyer adds insurance, the form does not show installment options; if the buyer had selected installments, the selection returns to a single payment.
  • Insurance is added to the payment only when paying by card. If the buyer pays with a method other than card (e.g. a wallet) or with more than one card, the payment is processed without insurance. If the form also offers these options, the buyer is told that insurance is added when paying by card.

After the premium

  • You transfer the premium to your provider. The premium reaches you with your payment as part of your sale. You transfer it to your provider according to your agreement; Lunixi does not hold the premium on its own behalf.
  • The policy is issued after the premium is collected. The policy is not issued at the moment the payment is submitted. The collection, policy, refund and document statuses of the order: Concepts and Statuses.
  • If a premium refund is needed, the refund is made from your payment, for the premium amount. For example, if the premium was collected but the policy definitively could not be issued, the premium must be refunded to the buyer; see Concepts and Statuses › Refund required.
